The Day God Touched My Face: A Faith Story

Finances, doubt, fear, insecurity, and overwhelming sadness; all these things and more attacked my mind as soon as I opened my eyes early this morning. As I stood at the proverbial fork in the road, I let human reasoning and emotions get the best of me in-spite of my faith in God. After I dropped my son off to daycare I started the usual habit of talking to anyone who would listen and give me that sought after golden nugget of advice. I went on my morning run as my mind steadily raced to find answers to solve my perceived dilemma. “Lord, what should I do, how am I going to do this (emphasis on I), please God give me grace for endurance as I figure this maze out”, I softly prayed as I jogged the trail. I turned the bend, and suddenly a cool & comforting breeze tenderly brushed my face and it felt as if God Himself was tenderly touching my face. Immediately, I cast my cares at His feet and let the song “Walk On By Faith” minister to my soul.

When was the last time you let God “touch” your face? Have you been so burdened down, that you haven’t taken time to look to the sky, worship Abba, our Father, and let the Sun kiss your skin? In others words, we should let nature nurture our hungry souls. The Bible says in Matthew 6:26 (NASB),” Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”

God cares for you and He knows what troubles your mind, but when you take the time to look at what surrounds you, it should be a constant reminder that God is in control of everything. If He can cast the stars in the sky, suspend the sun and moon in the galaxy, how much more so can He handle your cares? He give the oceans boundaries and they obey, should we not do the same? Whatever your worries, whatever your cares, right now I ask that you take a look around and worship your way through. Keep walking by faith and let Him touch your face today.
